A bathroom gets dirty faster than any other room, and a big scrub once in a while never quite keeps up. This checklist breaks the work into three layers: a two-minute daily reset, a weekly clean and a short list of monthly jobs. One sheet covers a whole month.
What’s inside
- Daily (about 2 minutes): hang towels to dry, wipe the sink and counter, squeegee the shower glass and put products away. One tick circle for each day of the week.
- Weekly: toilet, sink and faucet, mirror, shower or tub, fresh towels and bath mat, trash and floor. One tick circle for each of the four weeks.
- Monthly: shower curtain and liner, grout, showerhead, exhaust fan cover, cabinet fronts, expired products and the toothbrush holder.
How to use it
Print one sheet at the start of the month and tape it inside a cabinet door, or put it in a sheet protector and use a dry-erase marker. Tick off the daily jobs as you go, pick one day each week for the weekly clean, and spread the monthly jobs over the month however suits you.
If more than one person uses the bathroom, the daily row is a good one to share. Kids can easily hang their towel and put their things away.
Tips
- Keep a small caddy under the sink with a spray cleaner, a cloth, a toilet brush and a squeegee. When everything is right there, the daily reset really does take two minutes.
- Spray the shower and toilet first and let the cleaner sit while you do the mirror and sink. It does more of the work for you.
- Wash the shower curtain liner in the washing machine with a couple of towels. It comes out much cleaner than wiping it.
FAQ
How often should a bathroom be cleaned?
A quick daily wipe plus a full clean once a week works for most households. Busy family bathrooms may need the weekly clean twice a week.
What is the order for cleaning a bathroom?
Top to bottom, cleanest to dirtiest: mirror, counter and sink, shower or tub, toilet, then the floor last.
Can I use this for more than one bathroom?
Yes. Print one sheet per bathroom, or write the bathroom name next to the month at the top.
