Sometimes kids need a little visible motivation, whether it’s potty training, staying in bed all night or practicing reading. A sticker chart makes progress easy to see: every sticker brings the reward one step closer.

What’s inside

Three charts, one per page:

Each chart has a “My goal” line, numbered circles to fill with stickers or color, a star for the last circle, and a big box at the bottom: “When I fill my chart I get…”.

How to use it

  1. Pick one clear goal. “Stay in bed all night” works better than “be good”.
  2. Choose the chart size. Younger kids need a quick reward, so start with 10. Older kids can wait for 20 or 30.
  3. Agree on the reward together and write it in the box. Experiences work great: a park trip, baking together or choosing the movie.
  4. Give the sticker right away when they reach the goal, and make a little fuss about it.

Tips

FAQ

What age is a sticker chart for?

Reward charts work well from about age 2 to 8. For toddlers, use the 10-sticker chart and very simple goals.

What can I use a reward chart for?

Potty training, sleeping in their own bed, brushing teeth without a fuss, practicing an instrument, reading, or being kind to siblings. Keep it to one goal per chart.

Do reward charts really work?

They tend to work best for short-term goals and building new habits. For everyday routines, a picture checklist like our morning routine chart can be even more helpful.
